PTSD: a psychological disorder, developed after a traumatic event outside the range of usual human experience, and characterized by symptoms such as reliving the event, reduced involvement with others, nightmares, forgetfulness, and hyper-alertness/exaggerated startle response. My counselor suggested I write this to encourage those in the midst of PTSD or abuse. Hope it helps!
