Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Basically, I'll clean your work up, make suggestions, and do minor revisions if you wish, but I won't rewrite your stories for you. I expect anyone wanting my services to be clear about anything they want particular help with beyond basic editing, and to be timely in any communication we have. If I accept a beta project, I will maintain contact with the author informing them of my progress along the way. If I receive a story that is a total mess that I'm unable to make sense of, I do reserve the right to then turn down the beta request, as those story attempts are usually impossible to beta anyway. I'm quite good at spelling and fairly good with grammar. I'm good at ensuring a story flows smoothly and that plot-holes and other such issues are resolved. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I have a chronic problem with my own stories, which I've been improving at, when it comes to showing rather than telling. Therefore, if you have this problem, I'll be able to spot it and will attempt to help clean it up, but may not really be the best person for this particular issue. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I prefer stories that have some action, adventure, or mystery involved. Really though, anything with a real plot is good. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Anything that is just purely about sex or violence with no plot is just not worth it to me. In fact, if you don't have some type of plot to your writing, I'd rather you not contact me. |
