Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I read a wide range of stories and I do not mind beta-reading anything at all. I'd like to believe a have good editing skills, after all I've become editor for my High School yearbook, and have been praised for good grammar and excellent spelling. Of course, I do have some weaknesses and sometimes let slip a few things, but I'd gladly check it all over again. I also tend to be lazy and slack off, but when I work seriously, I work hard, without sleep, even without pay. XP I prefer works that have been written by a writer with fairly good grammar. I do not take in works from people who don't even bother to spell correctly or check their grammar just because someone is editing it for them anyway. I also don't take works with abbreviations or "text-speak" unless it is something critical to the story and that the storyline would be totally off without it. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Grammar- and spell-checking, mostly, but I do try my best if you ask it of me. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Titling and story formation. I'm not so good with helping people with the titles of their works because I, myself, find it hard to give names to my works as a writer. As for story formation, I can edit it only at a fundamental stage (story organization), but anything outside that is also outside my field of expertise. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Horror, Suspense, Supernatural, Thriller, Erotica (nothing too hardcore), Comedy (nothing too goofy and/or corny) |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Historical, Cultural, Romance, Teen-y, Drama, Action, Spiritual, Fantasy, Sci-Fi |
