Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I see beta-ing as a type of symbiotic relationship- you help me sharpen my skills by letting me beta your work, and I help you by polishing your work. I will alwyas try to do the best I can, but please realize that I am human also and things slip past me too! I will also try to work as quickly, but as accurately as I can, but I cannot guarantee anything all the time. I will offer several suggestions if you ask for them, but if you don't I will stick to spelling/grammer/fact checking. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am good at and enjoy researching facts for stories, and I am also good at offering suggestions if they are asked for. I am a reasonable good speller, and though I may not catch every error or typo, I will try the best I can. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I can handle simple grammer rules well, but the more complicated they get, the more I get unsure. I will admit that grammer is my weakness, but I will try to work past that. Please keep in mind this is my first time being a Beta-reader and be lenient with me! |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I prefer stories in fantasy, mystery, angst, and tragedy, just because I have more experience in those categories, but I am open to most stories. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I would rather not beta-read any stories in the horror genre or anything with explicit sexual activity. If stories are rated higher for sex, I do not want to beta, but I'm fine with stories that are rated higher for violence or language. |
