Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I will not be nice to you if you do not deserve it. I won't let you get away with anything. Fortunately,I am a grammatical freak, and I know what I am talking about when it comes to the English language. That being said, your pieces will come back in sharper order than you sent them to me. Don't worry, I do not mistake grammatical errors with errors in story telling. If you tell a good story, I will commend you for it. If you tell a good story and write it badly, I will tell you it is a good story, and then I will proceed to tell you everything that you did wrong. '
All in all, I sound like a very disagreeable person.
But in truth, I am a nice person. I'm just a nice person who has no sense of humor when it comes to grammar. :D
I only ask that you take my criticism as it is meant: a tool to help you become a better writer. When you know where your mistakes are, you are more able to spot them yourself. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am excellent at punctuation: correct use of commas, colons, and semi-colons; which punctuation goes inside or outside quotation marks; and much more. I am also good at word choice and vocabulary. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
As a writer, my biggest flaw is that I am terrible at developing stories. I have tantalizing bits of beginnings, but I am never able to develop them into a real stories. So, perhaps my weakness is that of lack of imagination. :( |

I don't really enjoy teenage angst stories. There is enough teenage angst in this world; I don't enjoy reading too much of it. Although, if your story develops beyond the angst into a story of depth and character, I will definitely be willing to give it a look-over. |
