Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I've mostly done this sort of thing when helping middle school students with their writing. That's probably why I notice grammar/spelling/punctuation issues before anything else. Just let me know what exactly you're looking for in a beta and I'll let you know if I feel like I'm capable of doing that for you. Also, let me know how fast you want things read through. I'm probably not going to be the fastest reader. One, I have other obligations, and two, I do like to read through things at least twice. Once for a first impression and the second time just to pick up on everything I miss the first time. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
As I mentioned, grammar and such is really what I notice first. Characters are my other strong area, and I think I'm pretty good at finding characters that aren't well developed or things about them that don't make sense. |

I myself am currently working on making my own stories flow nicely. It's probably my biggest weakness, so it'd be best if you don't ask me to do that. I can see the problem, I just can't help you (or myself) fix it. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I like fantasy mostly. Fantasy with romance is definitely a favorite of mine, and I'd say I'm very familiar with the genre. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Mysteries and westerns I would be terrible at, as well as historical fiction. The best I could do for those genres is tell you if I'm even remotely interested in the story, which would be amazing as I generally don't like those genres. Other than that, I can't do much else. |
