Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
As a beta, I can be somewhat of a critic. I usually measure fiction to pretty high standards, and I can give you advice in all categories: grammar, spelling, tenses, subject matter, character development, plot and style. I can be opinionated (a weakness) but I try to be objective when beta'ing. I can also tailor my services to you. If, for instance, you only want a quick grammar/spelling check before publishing, and maybe just a dash of advice, I can do that. If you want to know if a story needs a complete rewrite I can do that too; the input you give changes the output I give. |

I can be overly harsh at times, and also, depending on how busy my life is, a little slow. I also have a hang up beta'ing stories I don't enjoy reading; I can do it, but only for a little while. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I enjoy supernatural, fantasy and romance stories but I'm willing to try other stories as well. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I'm not big on cliches, or stories that are very poorly written. If there are a lot of ".........," capslocking, tense mistakes and overall a lack of writing skill I'm very put off. Also, I dislike stories that are too angsty/overdramatic or unrealistic, though if you're worried your story might have some of these flaws I'm willing to help you correct them. |
