Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
As a beta-reader, I'd be more than happy to look at anyone's work with as much objectivity as I can offer. Yeah, I know, I'm oh so very specific and endearing. However, given time, I can quickly read over a story, edit it, and suggest as much as I can for you. I can't really say I have a style of reading, more that I'm willing to help as much as I can. Also, I'll try my best to catch every error I can. I'm human too, after all. I will be completely honest with you about your work. I can be a bit blunt sometimes, so that may drive you away. Don't be afraid; I don't bite. As for expectations, I just ask that you don't take my criticism personally but just one person's opinion on your work and that you understand I'm always willing to read something new for anyone. In other words, I'm a writer, too. We all make mistakes and could use someone to look at what we write to make it the best things we could create. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I've never really been sure where my strengths lie in anything, but I can say I'm pretty good at catching grammar and spelling mistakes. Also, I can aid you in developing good descriptions and possibly expanding your vocabulary. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
As for weaknesses, I'm not so good at necessarily helping with plot related things. I can try to help you fix the story so it flows better; however, the most I'll probably offer is whether or not the story is choppy, missing something, or is running smoothly. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I don't honestly have any particular preferences. I will gladly read any genre, any style. As long as it's your best effort, it could be about anything in any setting you choose. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Again, no real preferences. I'd like to say that nonfiction isn't my cup of tea, but really, if it's an interesting topic or just well written, then I don't mind at all. |
