Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
As a beta-reader, I generally attempt to work with the author in whatever way he or she wants. If the author wishes me to only correct grammar errors, I will do so. If the author wishes my input on where the story should go, what parts of the story should be left out, what parts should be added, or anything of the sort, I will do so. The only thing that I will ask in return is that the author is open to my suggestions, but also honest; if there is something the author does not agree with, honesty would be best. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am very good with grammar. I also am good at helping the author with coming up with new ideas for his or story. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
As a writer, I am not the best at adding in description, and as a reader, I am not the best at reading a lot of description; thus, as a betareader I will not be able to give much input on long paragraphs of description, because as a general rule I don't like them. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I prefer either a little bit of romance in the story, or a little bit of fantasy, but that's not a necessity. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Honestly, if someone really wants me to betaread his or her story, I wouldn't object unless I feel uncomfortable and/or unqualified to betaread it. I am unable to think of anything besides a story with major sex scenes (both uncomfortable and unqualified), but I will be honest if either apply. |
