Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I'm an English major. I survived childhood with my nose in a book and my hand on a pen. I currently proofread many of my friends' school papers and enjoy it. A lot. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
My current aim in life is to be a publisher, editor, or copy editor. With that, I am a grammar freak. I can insert a comma, semi-colon, the whole nine yards. I can also tell what makes sense and what doesn't. I also recently got to be kick-butt at unifying accents/dialects as long as I know what words need to be used. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I don't get into what I read that often and miss the bigger picture usually, so I may not be able to help with some connections and plot details. That being said, however, I'm always open for communication to bounce ideas off, as I do always have ideas even if I don't understand. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I'm really big into history, some pre-Civil War if American history, and then WWI to the Cold War. I'm open to nearly everything outside of historically-based, but those are my favorites. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I can not do any type of fiction set in any time period of Russia--I just don't understand any of it, no matter the time frame. I also don't prefer teen fictions. |
