Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I check general punctuation, spelling, and grammar first. Then point out things that are unclear, or I feel could use a little more polishing. I am open to anyone who wishes to receive honest criticism. I point out the good and the bad, I never flame a piece of work or deem it unworthy of my time to read. I take all requests and questions seriously and do everything I can to help. I am an author too and I am still growing and learning as a writer. So, if you want me to do a little more than just check grammer, spelling, or punctuation just let me know what you need. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
My writing style is all my own. I am mainly a freestyle poet. I'm good at correcting grammar, spelling, and punctuation. I have a pretty good feel for wording. Writing poetry is an art and skill I have been doing for four years. I also think that my honesty, though it can be a little brutal at times is a good thing because you can be sure I will give you some kind of feedback. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I do occasionally miss commas and semi colons. I am human so I make mistakes too. I have written crappy poems. I'm terrible at story writing because for the life of me I cannot describe a scene. Though description is part of poetry, I have a really difficult time with it in stories. I don't explain things very well in stories either because I have it in my head and tend not to realize people can't read my mind and figure out whats going on. I can't seem to apply the same writing style I do to poetry into stories. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I really do prefer poetry but i will do stories too. I am not much of a story writer and I don't feel comfortable giving any criticism when it is not my area of expertise. I will check grammar, spelling, and punctuation of a story but i will not try to help with the general writing other than basics. I don't feel like I could give good enough feedback on a story and I want the person I'm helping to get all the help they deserve. |
