Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I don't really know my beta-reading style. I do know that I love to read, and that I would love to help fellow authors. I am very honest, sometimes brutally so. I won't sugar coat criticisms, however I won't flame you. I always offer positive feedback along with any negative. I understand if you get annoyed with one of my criticisms, but give it a couple says for the indignation to die down, and then see if you are still upset. I know that always works for me. I would be able to help you move the plot forward, and help you if you get stuck. I have quite an imagination, one that can go wild once provided with a starting point. I don't know what else you would want to know. If you would like to ask me some questions, feel free. I will answer truthfully. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I an very good at imagery, and descriptions. I think that they are fun. I am no spelling nazi, however I will get most of it. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
My grammar is not stellar. I might not catch a misplaced comma. Also I might get so involved with the story that I won't notice some mistakes. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I am pretty okay with everything, as long as it has a happy ending. Or at least a satisfying one. Sure the hero died, but at least he took the villain down with him! I really like romances. The setting in which the romance takes place doesn't really matter to me. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I do not beta slash stories. Also I don't like really angsty tragedies. I don't have any patience for the characters, I would not be a positive force in a story like that. |
