Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I am absolutely meticulous with grammar.
Although, of course, I tend to publish first drafts of my chapters and totally revamp afterwards, I do edit while I read.
I'm open for all genres of writing, although I do tend to favor contemporary pieces and stories that are set in the present time setting. Also, I'm a sucker for stories with 'real' endings, as I like to put. By that, I mean endings that are well put and not overly cheesy and exaggerated.
My expectations are that the writing is completely original and creative, and is something that the writer is proud of. That's something I am a stickler about as well; being proud of your own work. After all, “Be careful that you do not write or paint anything that is not your own, that you don't know in your own soul.” - Emily Carr. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Different perspectives and finding loopholes and ways to go around the clichéd plots are what I specialize in doing. Also, using different ways of conveying emotion like only dialogue or only description. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Ehh, I can sometimes get carried away in description to the point that I lose track of what my point is in the paragraph. Sometimes, my writing goes nowhere and is more to familiarize with the character, but then I end up familiarizing too much and losing interest. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Hm, well I'm a sucker for romance. Comedic romances, but meh. It's all good. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Err. No. Pretty opent most things. |
