Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I usually have quite a bit of time and my hands, and I'm a pretty through reader. I'll be honest with you if there's something in there that makes no sense, but if you explain something to me (ie: it's explained later.. the character has issues.. etc) I'll try and catch on as quickly as I can.
If I'm beta-ing poetry, you should explain to me about what the poem is to you, and if there's any structure you're adhering to so that I can keep to that. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm pretty good at catching spelling and grammar as mistakes in those areas just drive me right up the wall. I'm good with remembering details, so I can catch continuity errors most times. Oh, and sentances that feel akward I can catch right away.. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
If it doesn't keep me interested, I'll drop it. And I'm not a dictionary, so if I change a word that you chose esspecialy, let me know or just change it back or something. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Just about anything is good.
*points at beta preferances* If it's on that list, I'll beta it. If it's not, ask, describe it to me, and we'll see :) |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Anything strongly sexual... I'm probably not the best person to beta this. I read it, but I don't write it, and I don't think I could catch mistakes that other people would. I can go over it for grammar/spelling/etc, but not for content.
And anything that has to be hitorically accurate.. I don't think I could catch history mistakes without alot of research into your topic. |
