Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I'm helping a couple of friends getting ready to pursue publication by editing their manuscripts. I can concentrate on anything you want me to, from the bigger picture (characters, plot, etc.) to technical things (grammar, sentence structure, spelling, etc.). I try to be honest, but not brutally so. If there's something I don't think is working I won't hesitate to point it out, but I always try to point out strengths, too.
I do my best to be prompt, but I'm currently in college studying history and secondary education, so obviously that has to come first. However, I'll always try to have your chapter(s) back to you within a couple weeks, and if it'll take longer, I'll be sure to let you know. If at all possible, I prefer that you send me things via email or DocX.
Also, if you're going to request me, I ask that you be able to write a coherent sentence in English. PLEASE. Unless English isn't your first language, and you're asking me to help you with that. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm better with technical things (that was all drilled into me in high school, no joke), but I'm also good at analyzing the crap out of things, so I can do pretty much anything you want. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm sort of sarcastic, which sometimes can be misconstrued. I try to restrain myself, though. |
