Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Well, I'm not a perfect writer, like everybody on this site, but I try my damndest and I've got a few stories I'm pretty proud of on this site, as well as some songs. I'll check your stories for grammar, spelling and crap like that as well as give you some description tips. My personal favorite thing about writing is connecting everything. Like Stephen King, you'll notice my own stories will subtly involve the other ones. Not to say you have to read them all to appreciate them, but it's always cool to notice something like that. So if you're a person who does that, definitely let me know. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
My strengths are probably in giving tips on description, and wording and writing believable, dynamic characters, creating intricate stories, and making plot-twists. I have an extensive vocabulary, though to some my speech may consist of four letter words, I know my stuff, I just don't like to flaunt it half the time. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm not great at picking up on typos. If I see them I see them, but I may miss some stuff. Don't hold it against me. I read stuff like I read a book, and even in books there's the occasional error, so at times I may just read past it accidentally. Bear with me, folks. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I'd definitely love to work on some spine-chilling horror stories, replete with spattering gore, psychological terror, and some downright creepy antagonists. I also like fantasy if it's got a splash of horror in it as well. I especially enjoy plot twists, and connecting storylines in multiple books. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I'm not a romance guy. Not that I don't mind some love themes in stories, but if something is full of sappy mushy crap then I'll hate it. I dunno, it's probably due to the fact I've had some bad experiences with 'love' in my life, and more often than not there's never a happily ever after. I also don't do so hot with science fiction or comedy. Don't get me wrong, I love 'em both, but I just can't edit them. |
