Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
The stories that I write (and read) are almost always Young Adult, have some sort of romance (not always necessarily as a main theme, but often), and often include the supernatural. These are the sort of stories that I'd feel I'd be best at betareading. I would rather not take stories that are riddled with poor grammar and weak plots. Not only would I catch most if not all of the mistakes in the stories that I betaread, I'd also be able to make suggestions about characters, plot, etc.
I want to be a beta-reader because at the moment I'm in reading mode. I've been taking a much needed break as a writer. I've been reading a lot to get the creative juices flowing, and I'm letting them build up a bit until I'm ready to produce something great.
For me to betaread a story, it must be classified as a Young Adult story on this site. If it is also classified as romance, that's even better. And if your story ties in supernatural (vampires, ghosts, etc...), that's the perfect story for me. However, just plain Young Adult/Romance or Young Adult/Drama or something of the sort is fine with me. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I have great grammar, and often get nitpicky about sentence structure and mistakes that distract from the story. If it is making your story look weak or if it's very distracting, that'll be the first thing that I fix. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I have a thing with commas... I often use punctuation a bit too much. Also, sometimes I try to use words to impress people even if I'm not exactly comfortable with them. This mostly just makes me sound dumb. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others

Or any mixture of these. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Anything aimed at an older audience (older basically meaning out of college).
