Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I love to write, and I love to read, and I've been writing for 3 years now, and intend to raise that number higher still. I've written numerous novels, and am always coming up with my own story ideas. I like suggesting things, and giving my opinions on characters. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
The 'right' word (their, there, they're, to, two, too, we're, wear, etc...), definitions, symbolism, tense, inconsistancies, story anachronisms, and pop culture. I am also very nice, and trust me, if I get into your story, I'll want to discuss it with you and giggle about my favorite of your characters. :D :D I also read very fast, so should I get into your story, I'll probably have the beta'ing finished in no time at all. I also promise quick responses. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I make typos, and can be lazy about reading. I procrastinate often, and if the story doesn't grab my interest at the beginning, I probably won't read the second chapter. I'll always make it through the first chapter, though. I am not into anime. I also suck at beta'ing poetry. XD |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I prefer quirky, out of the box fantasies and romances. I enjoy het, slash, and don't mind implied femmeslash. Stories must be more character driven, although if the story has an especially engaging plot, I'll like it. And, I ADORE satire, so please, send all satire my way please. A character's quick wit and sharp tongue will win me over in a heartbeat. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
No 'quests' or cliches. (Example: Restoring an heir to the throne, saving a princess, reclaiming a lost treasure, middle ages knights and royal families...) No high school romances or mysteries, please. :D I only like 'epic length' romances when they're of the slash variety, but any one-shot romances are awesome. I don't like sci-fi, horror, or much poetry. |
