Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I am a writer, as I have been for years. I expect well-written stories, but then again, that is why I beta. I have a keen eye for detail and I follow the GUM (Grammar, Usage, and Mechanics) rules strictly. I tend to read the file more than once, checking for errors or places where things could be changed for a better story. I do not point out mistakes or corrections, but I merely show you where changes could and should be made. Other than that, I just look for repetition of characters, words, phrases, and key elements. Most stories, depending on length, will be betaread within approxamately one week from date of submission. For submission, please email beta22309@rocketmail.com. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am a great beta when it comes to fantasy and romantical writing. Fictions pertaining, but not limited to, romance, fantasy, other worlds, or outlandish beings are generally easier for me to comprehend and detect errors in. I am also skilled in British literature and American literature. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I am unable to perform as well on files pertaining to cars, same sex relationships, things to do with established businesses that exist in modern times, or with poems/lyrics that do not follow standards (rhyming, repetition, etc.). |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I prefer fantasy, romance, or outworldly stories over others. I will, however, read anything that comes to me. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
There are not many stories I will refuse to beta-read. I will beta anything, I just may not be the best person to come to one certain topics discussed in my weaknesses. |
