Beta Description
Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hello! My name is Weeping (shortened version of my pen name - not some depressed chick who wants your sympathy) and I'd love to beta-read your stories! Why? Because it's better than doing homework.

So uh, I guess I'll just jump right into describing my beta-reading self!

I can be a rather blunt beta-reader. I'll probably say what's on my mind as I read through your piece of writing - whether good, bad, or just plain odd (my thoughts should sometimes be left unquestioned, haha). I tend to focus more on the grammar/spelling of the writing and I will probably point out every typo I see because typos bother me. But don't let that deter you, I do focus on the story as a whole! I'll point out inconsistancies within the story content, characters that could use a little work, and other things of that sort. And if I come across an awkward sentence or a line that doesn't make sense or doesn't fit, then I will be sure to let you know. Just your general story-critiquing funness.

If you would like me to review your work then please don't hesitate to ask! I am really friendly and I can find good (or hope if not that) in just about everything I read. I just ask that if you send me a beta-request, please have reviewed your piece at least once (it'll cut down on me stopping at every uncapitalized 'i' and misspelled word).
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
My biggest strength in beta-reading is that I tell you what is on my mind. I won't sugarcoat things to the point where it is not going to help you and yet at the same time I will not give destructive criticism that is only going to hurt you as a writer. I float somewhere in between these two.

I promise I will not just point out every flaw and then leave you with the scraps of what used to be your story without an explaination. I'm not that mean... even if I wanted to be.
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Weaknesses... My biggest weakness is, like I mentioned before, I'm a real grammar and spelling stickler and you might find it annoying after a while of me pointing out all your spelling mistakes. But the simple way to remedy this is just to reread your work before you give it to me. It'll make things go a whole lot smoother and faster and we'll be on our ways!
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
There aren't really too many stories that I will not read. However, ones that I tend to like more are the scary, usually-unacceptable, weird stories. You know... the ones about school shootings, the kid who hung himself, drug abuse, and then the good-ol' mysteries of 'who's the killer?' and all that fun stuff. I also like to read about death and things of that sort. Why? I don't know. Maybe it's some deeply-repressed emotion inside me that finds release in reading disturbing stories.

I'm not a really creepy person or anything though, I promise! I just like to read about that stuff for some reason. It excites me when there is a crime to be had or secret pain to be discovered. (But I will read any story... even your happy-go-lucky love story! Hehe, please don't be scared off by what I've written!)
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Alrighty - the things I prefer not to betaread: slash stories of any sort, stories with an overly-suggestive theme or just flat out graphic scenes, and stories with cursing.

I honestly hate it when there is cursing and swearing in a story. I find it very offensive and usually end up looking down on the person who wrote it because "they could have worked around using those words but I guess they weren't smart enough to do that." There is a world of words out there - probably more than one of which that can serve your purpose! Use them!

I also do not want to read any of your slash stories. Don't get me wrong though... just having slash in it doesn't necessarily make it a bad peice of writing, I just don't want to read it. Offended by that? My sincere apologies, but I find it offensive, too.

Adult scenes... I don't care to read them. Simple as that. But I do understand that sometimes certain things need to happen in a story. And I am alright with that, as long as they aren't graphic and all that. Graphic-ness (is that even a word?) is uncalled for.

Ahem. Yeah... so that's basically it. No swearing, slash, or adult scenes please. That's all! (Now that I have officially scared everyone off... hahahum.)
