First of all, I really don't like telling people that they need to do this, that, or the other thing in their story. It's their story, not mine, and I will make suggestions or just tell you if things don't make sense or don't flow well.
Second, the characters have to be done well. They have to be interesting and attention grabbing.
Third, plot. If there's supposed to be plot, it has to be interesting. See where I'm going with this? Cliché's can be fun if they're being made fun of or have some twist, but, really. Interesting.
I don't like reading about straight characters because books about straight characters are pretty much all of what I can get out of my library, but I'll at least try anything that looks interesting or new or creative.
What I won't read: things written in 'computer talk' (like, using 'r' or 'y' instead of 'are' or 'why' and all that); really gory stories (as in, blood and guts all over the place; my family hunts, I can handle it, but it's just annoying); and boring stories.
If you want me to beta for you, make sure you send me a description of your story, even if it's just a really vague one because you don't really have a plan. It's helpful in deciding if I want to beta your story, because I don't like having to tell people after three chapters that I can for whatever reason.

Misspelled and misused words annoy me, so I'm kinda good at correcting those.

Characterization. To me, characters are personal, so I don't really care for telling people that something is out of character and the like, and I'm not all that good at seeing it. I'll still try, but still.

Slash or femmeslash. I adore fluffiness. Fantasy is my favorite; I love seeing what people come up with. I'll do pretty much any story, though, with any pairing.

Non-fiction. I will not do non-fiction.
