Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I am quite intelligent, if I do say so myself! I prefer to read over your story once to get a feel for what is happening, then go over it again, fixing things. However, if there are any changes other than mere grammar or spelling, such as changing things around, taking things out, etc., I will discuss it with you before making the change(s).
Once I show you the edited version, I will talk with you (if you'd like) about things I have changed and why, hopefuly allowing you to change these things yourself in the future. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am very good with grammar and spelling - I often have to correct my English teacher! I also can tell you if something just *sounds* wrong; too much repetition, run-on sentences, and the like. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I can be a bit of a perfectionist sometimes and it may take me a bit to respond: I have been recieving lots of homework lately! Also, I think I have an unhealthy obsession with commas (only in grammatically correct places, though!). =) |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Young Adult is my preference, although I am also available for Poetry, Romance, Horror, Historical Fiction, etc. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I'm not sure I could do well with things like Science-Fiction, Western, Manga, or Biographies, and knowing that I probably couldn't do my best work with those, I would prefer not to betaread them. |
