Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hello. My pen name here is Mr. Sebastian. I like to write prose. I tend to write Slash or just strange musings, but I don't really use FP.net unless necessary. I used to write free verse a lot, but it seems I have lost the gift for poetry. I personally love editing and revision. It's a great time to read back and reflect and I like giving advice. Generally, I beta short stories and prose pieces. |

I tend to be honest with criticism. Style, organization, flow and mechanical errors are the strong points. (I'm quite good with commas (; ) |

Grammar is a complicated science. Honestly, it is. Those iffy times when you don't know whether to use a "" or a '' do occasionally rise up. My weakness is probably in my tenses though I seem to have improved upon that.I have a good grasp of the basics but I am definitely not a grammer nazi. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Fantasy, sci-fi, slash. Though really, any writer who can write and just need a second opinion. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
No high school stories. Please. If I read another story about a goth and a popular kid falling in love, I will explode. No romance stories. Romance as part of a story is fine, but if it's just about a girl falling in love with a guy, I won't read it. No cliches. Unless you can actually "make it work", to borrow a phrase from Project Runway. |
