Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I am a person who has vast grammatical experience, and will not be afraid to look right into the workings of a piece of work to correct any errors i find. Though i do not find it as enjoyable, i am willing to correct pretty much any type of story (romance, fantasy, sci-fi) you decide on for help. People who wish my services (geez, now THAT sounds wrong...^^') must be ready to deal with a rude sense of humour and general chattiness...along with reluctance to review any lemon/citrusy type writing. I tend to get into the fine details of descriptive writing, and my dialogue can be very formal. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am better at writing descriptive stories and getting into the minds of characters. I enjoy scribing unusual paragraphs about the surroundings, and varied ways of introducing speech. Though i am able to and good at writing in first person, i prefer writing third because it suits my descriptively-inclined style more. My spelling is extremely accurate. I am also bilingual...(English and German) so i can help in that aspect if needed. Tschus! |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I have an intense dislike for the word "necessary," and have spelt it wrong in several different dialogues over the years. My other weaknesses...i get very bored when writing the dialogue of a character with an accent, so i tend to forget about it after a few chapters in. I also tend to get a bit cringe-y when writing romance scenes, so don't expect a sappy paragraph where the hero sweeps the heroine off to bed...i will simply shoot myself and/or run away screaming. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I like writing fantasy and sci-fi, but i actually ENJOY correcting pieces of writing (sad, i know ^~^') so i will correct pretty much anything you give me. (I don't mind if it's Yaoi or straight) |
