Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
As a beta-reader, I'm really very thorough. I check through everything over and over, but keep in mind that I'm not perfect! Some errors still slip through. My style is really going through the story first to just read it, second to correct grammatical errors, and third to fix any awkward phrasing or anything else that doesn't fit in the first two categories. If you want me to be a beta-reader for you, keep in mind that I'm not a cleaning lady. I'm not going to clean up your mess. If you have written something, I expect that you went through it yourself before passing it on to me. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm rather good at catching spelling/grammatical errors. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Verb tense is something that tends to slip by me at times. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I would prefer to read orignal stories over the regular cliches. Of course, if your story is a new twist on a cliche, I wouldn't mind reading it over. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Stories in which the plot is too predictable aren't really for me. While beta-reading those, I tend to get distracted by my frustration that everything is playing out exactly how I thought it would and miss rather blaring errors. |
