Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I really am not that picky about anything, though I do like to research a lot, so that some of the things are set in stone, or are sort of realistic. Not like he lived after someone chopped off part of his head, he probably isn't going to live, and I would strongly insist that you take that out unless you have some magical healing potion. I also have a tendency to have people murdered for the good of the story, and won't hesitate to kill off the best friend of the main character, or end the story with the main character dying. But I would love to beta anything If you just to bounce some ideas off of me, sure go ahead, I won't bite. . . hard.
I am also not going to come up to you and remind you to write, or beg you to (at least not normally). So please don't ask me to. If you've contacted a beta reader, anyone, it is sort of expected that you are going to stick to writing. If by chance you have decided to stop, TELL ME! I don't appreciate having to keep a file open on your preferences and whatnot for betaing, or having to expect something when it isn't coming. Please at least shoot off and email/PM that goes "I don't think I'm going to keep writing this." or "I'm sick, so I might not write." or "My life just got busy, still writing (or not writing) but it might be a while until I talk to you again." I promise I won't bite your head off. But out of courtesy, please do that. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I can do beginnings, if you need a beginning, I can do that I think well. I can also end things nicely, or in the way that I imagined it. I'm good with bouncing ideas, and making sure that you don't have holes in plots. That I can do. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm horrible at spelling, so I always use spell check about seven times. Middles I have problems with because I always want to add in everything, but I can't, and it might grow boring. Short and simple really isn't my thing. But I can do it, sort of. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I really don't care, though I do like fantasy and supernatural based and horror, gory horror. Love gory horror. :) But I have been moving into the romantic/angst filled realistic fiction genre. Slash, fem/fem, m/m, whatever you feel like calling it, I'm also comfortable doing. |

Not really, just nothing too sexual. I'm just not too comfy writing it. |
