Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Since this is the first time I've decided to be a beta-reader, I guess I don't really have a style. All I can say is that I'll do my best to take as much care with your work as I do with my own, and will try to present you with the best possible piece.
As an editor, I would like to have communications open--I'll read through a piece, then talk to the author, then look over the piece again with the author's intentions in mind. That way I can get a feel for what the piece looks like as an outside reader (the first time) and with the insights of the author! |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Years of reading and also a plan to be an editor have helped me to learn my lessons when it comes to spelling and grammar ... |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Rather ADD if interrupted, so I need to sit down and do everything at once. Can also be overly-critical of infinitesimally small gramatical errors ... |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Not really ... |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I think I'll know more when I have read more, but right now, I will accept anything! |
