Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Beta edition! I'm gonna try this out because I just noticed that I'm elgible. I've never been a beta-reader before, so I don't blame you if you don't want me to beta read your story. If you do want to give my services a try, I'll attempt to be as helpful as possible. I hate giving out critism, but I realize that sometimes it's necessary. My reviews may take a while to come, because I like to take my time making sure I've said everything I've intended to say. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm pretty good at first person, apparently. I'm a fan of adding description and I try to fit it in as much as possible. Metaphors are also something I like to think I'm good at. I add them into everything. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm an "impulse writer", my term for the fact that I do absolutely no planning. Everything that happens in my stories probably hasn't been thought out very long, and therefore I might have a few plot holes or unrealistic scenes. I also update reeeaaaally slowly, maybe a chapter a month? I'm trying to get better at my speed, though. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I'll go for anything in the sci-fi genre, but as you may have noticed from my other profile, I really want to read something involving genetic engineering. It's my obsession, what can I say? Basically, if you're a sci-fi writer I'm open. Fantasy is sometimes okay too. Oh and futuristic stuff. THat's always fun. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I won't read anything labeled under "romance", "essay", "historical fiction", or "spiritual/religion". They're just not what I'd be able to beta-read well. Also, I won't read anything rated M. My computer will block it if it get's too... you know. If you have written anything that falls under these categories, don't ask me to be a beta-reader. Sorry. |
