Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
My name is Zoa. I’m 15, and for many years, my best subject has been English and creative writing.
I’m a Falcon and co-founder of Mockingbird Prints, my job is to read stories and judge them based on creativity & writing ability. So I’ve plenty of experience.
And last, but certainly not least, I will give you an honest opinion, for good or for bad.
I hate telling someone when their works aren’t the best I’ve read, for I encourage literacy achievement. I don’t like making someone feel insignificant, that their efforts are worthless.
If you, however, show me anything that has horrible spelling, grammar, capitalization, AND punctuation, I’ll have no pity. I do not tolerate desecration of the English language.
I view this work as my job, so don’t hold it against me if I tell you that your work is crap, but on the other side of the coin, don’t misunderstand me if I say that your story could be better.

My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I’m a Cyber Academy student; I’m on the computer most of the day.
I’m an avid reader. I’ve read from Tolken to Berry, and I could always read a new, interesting story.
I’m willing to read any story; no matter if it’s a topic that I know about. If the subject is something I’m not familiar with, I’ll research it.
The types of stories I enjoy vary greatly; I love tragedies as well as happy endings, so I won’t hold either against you.
I’m NOT homophobic. I’m fine working with both yaoi and yuri.

My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
In writing, my weakness has to be that comic scenes and random dialogue don’t come easily. I’m not any good when it comes to writing anything comic or funny.
I also have to say that my spelling is poor as well (I’m writing this on Word), but I won't let that hold me back.
It will be hardest to reach me during the weekends, for my family goes on many camping trips. |
