My best subject in school is English and writing. I have been asked to read over many many essays in the past. I usually search out style/grammar/spelling errors and then go back and recommend better vocabulary and make my own content recommendations. I am better at critiquing writings other than my own, and usually can tell what the author's goal for the piece is by reading it.

If you only want certain content recommendations you must tell me. Like, do you think you need more detail? Do you want me to critique your character-dialogue? Do you want me to work with you on character-development? Do you want me to just look at everything?

I excel at grammar, spelling, and style. I am usually more concerned with character development and dialogue than I am with description of setting when it comes to my own writing. I am better at metaphors/analogies than I am with straight-out description. I have a knack for symbolism recognition and can even help with it! As a betareader I am able to aid in the advancing of writing technique and style.

Also I am a fan of research so if you have something you want to be accurate in some real-world way I would be happy to look it up for you!

As I said, I have weaknesses when it comes to setting. I think it easier to describe smell, sound, taste, and feeling than I do sight. Sight should be the easiest, but oh well!

I do not know if this is a weakness or not, but I tend to pick out every little thing that is wrong with the style/spelling/grammar of a piece, because I am quite anal about it. If you do not want every single mistake you make pointed out to you, you probably should not choose me. :-D

I quite enjoy fantasy stories. My imagination is such that I can imagine any world you want me to with just one sentence of description. In that way, I may be able to help with setting and imagery.

Science-fiction is also a specialty of mine. Like fantasy, I can imagine almost anything you want to throw my way!

I also enjoy historical fiction. Again, I enjoy research, so if you want to be historically or scientifically accurate in some way I would be happy to help you!

I LOVE romance. Mix romance with any of the above and you will find me an avid reader! Not to say that I will only accept romantic stories.

I would like to read stories from serious writers, and not something where someone just decided one day to sit down and chicken-peck an unintelligible read.

The only stories I will never betaread are horror stories. They give me nightmares.

Examples of creatures in non-horror stories: vampires, werewolves, spirits stuck on earth for a noble purpose, etc.
