I really like the way you've isolated the last line, it's so effective. This is excellent - the opening line if perfect, the image of bird's flight very vivid. And the theme of rain and the dance, used in the present tense (what is it with me and the present tense?)

Ghosts hanging from the trees of the past - I like this because it really strikes a cord with me. It's so true. Things slip through our clutches, sometimes unnoticed or not noticed enough, and we live to remember and regret it.

Damn. I have depressed myself. Don't need other people to depress me any more, can do it all by my bloody self ...
