Nice poem. I like the structure and comparison of the physical manifestition of the room and the emotional. Reminds me of a book called the Poetics of Spaces. Feng shui poetry? Perhaps. Do the two stanza's represent the points of views of two different people, or are they one?

Cheerful, isn't it? Can't relate too much, but have been in a sort of similar situation, but that's a bit of a long story, and I won't burden you with it. I like your word choice, especially, though the entire piece is rather good.
Also, thanks for the review...formatting on this site sucks though.
