I'm not sure how it happened,
The way things came to be.

Those memories I treasure,
And hold close to my heart.
I'm not sure how it ended.
It tore my soul apart.

A difference of opinion,
Yet that is far to small.
Perhaps walking down seperate paths,
We couldn't see at all.

The ache has never lessened.
I doubt it ever will.
At times the last days haunt me,
Yet they, I'll never kill.

But I will keep my distance,
If you want me at bay.
Perhaps friendship will come back,
For now, I hope and pray.

This poem reminds me of a event in my own life. Very saddening topic, but yet life is filled with such things.
