Very interesting story. I especially like the ending...not wholly unexpected, but still well written. One thing that was slightly odd...why did this man (the original) feel that he had to go out personally and do it instead of sending a robot? I know the romantic image of being a hero is tempting, and it is his family, however he could easily program the robot to send reports. Oh well, your story, your choice. Also, as to the Universal Rules thing...its kind of on hiatus until I get back to college, probably. This isn't quite what I was looking for, the plot I have going later on makes it rather difficult for a planet wide disaster to take place earlier in the story. Anyway, its a great short.

Nicely done. Except for the occasional typo or homophone error (loose instead of lose) this story is excellent. I await the next chapter. Good work.
