This reminds me powerfully of something, but I can't for the life of me think what! Gah! Whatever, it's full of wonderful touches - I was particularly drawn to "relatively old as cars go, though still in its infancy compared to the lifespan of a turtle" - completely unexpected, yet somehow entirely fitting.

you touched on one of my favorite topics here - the ocean. for some reason, i'm fascinated with it - but never mind that. this, i believe, is one of your finest works so far, and that is saying something! your imagery, your syntax, language - it was all right on the money. a beautiful, moving, terribly tragic piece. excellent.
