Oh... There's something bitterly dramatic about comparing running blood with a river and your poem - with its sweetly deceptive title ("Staring at a River") - is nicely dramatic as well. This is a great piece! =)

I've sometimes wondered what it'd feel like to cut myself. Heheh =) One time I pondered on really doing it but fortunately (or unfortunately) someting went wrong with my cutter =) Oh well, nice poem. The last line makes it all striking.
