Smart imagery. I like your description of the roses as canes, a crutch or even something sweet...once already leaned upon or tasted, you bear the scars even after you let go of the cane or its sugar melts away...very nice imagery.

Wonderful last stanza. Lots of power in those words. The comparison between the roses and love (thorns, pain) is great!

I really like it. I have never read one that captures the feeling this well.

I liked the beginning it was very exprecitive of your feelings, but the middle about wipping canes made me think about an old lady.
