Evangeline 11/13/03 . chapter 1A gorgeous poem. I'm usually not one for landscape imagery, but an exception has been made. V. good. |
Paradoxical Goddess 4/7/03 . chapter 1why'd you wait so long to post this one! i like the "we were to the missionaries strange- our hair bound in queues and buns to the straight of our necks we had clear eyes" part best. :) |
E. Gao 4/5/03 . chapter 1oh! such breathtaking images you paint! (I liked how the loose hair signifies a parallel letting go of rigidity.) but the images are what captivates me with this one. (I also liked the play on "quetzal collar" - quetzalcoatl. _) it's so romantic in such an ancient way, but you must have been the town painter to have captured the tension and cultural differences so eloquently and so colorfully. kudos! byrdgirl 4/4/03 . chapter 1Some of your images are great. I especially likes quetzal-collared god. Is that a play on quetzalcoatl? Your color imagery is the best and well used throughout the poem. *_* byrdgirl |
