Evangeline 11/13/03 . chapter 1
A gorgeous poem. I'm usually not one for landscape imagery, but an exception has been made. V. good.
Paradoxical Goddess 4/7/03 . chapter 1
why'd you wait so long to post this one! i like the

"we were to the missionaries strange-

our hair bound in queues and buns to

the

straight of our necks we

had clear eyes"

part best. :)
E. Gao 4/5/03 . chapter 1
oh! such breathtaking

images you paint!

(I liked how the loose hair signifies a parallel letting go of rigidity.)

but the images are

what captivates me

with this one.

(I also liked the play on "quetzal collar" - quetzalcoatl. _)

it's so romantic in

such an ancient way,

but you must have been

the town painter to have

captured the tension

and cultural differences

so eloquently and

so colorfully.

kudos!

Some of your images are great. I especially likes quetzal-collared god. Is that a play on quetzalcoatl? Your color imagery is the best and well used throughout the poem.
