Honestly, this is some of the best poetry I've seen in a long time. At some point, I'll have to read one of your stories to see if they're equally good, but I'm not in the mood for a long piece now! In any case, I just wanted to tell you that the endings of both this poem and the other one I reviewed were both incredible! A brilliant conclusion is a rare gift, and one you clearly possess. Very good poem, I really liked this one. The pacing and rhyming really work out well, you can feel the mood of the poem and sympathize with the shifter.

The first stanza illustrates visually and verbally the strain and desperate fear the shifter is experiencing.
I also like the plea to the deity, such a sad cry for help.
But the last stanza, that was definitely the best. That last line is wonderful :)

I like this an awful lot!

It sums being a were (or a fur...whatever people want to call it) up completely. I was nearly in tears!

"The sand is warm beneath the midnight's frost" - *what* a line that is. I'm sure I ought to be attending more to the actual message of the poem as a whole (though I thought *everyone* knew it was a *rabbit* in the Moon! =;) ), but I can't get over that one line. It's quite simply astounding.
