Wow, this is nicely done. You capture the feeling very well. I could agree on the innocence part. It opened Americans to the little bits and pieces of truth, at least, the way I see it. As a result, the public is more aware of the world than ever before. I wish all that is dark would come to light soon, so that we could mend it and create a better future for each and everyone of us to live in. Anyway, good job.

I think America's innocence was firmly gon after WW2, at the latest. What I believe was lost that day was...Trust. Americans will never trust the world again. Let me see If I can show you what I mean through a quote:

"We gave peace a chance and it cost us 9/11"-pro war slogan
