BTW, regarding your review of "How To Get a High GPA" (I was gonna send an e-mail, but your profile doesn't have one): I no longer attend PCC... that, and many other essays, were written while I was still there. I couldn't have posted them while I was there, anyhow; accessing the Internet while a student there (including during summers) is an offense that can get you expelled.

this is such a beautiful poem. i can see everything clearly in my mind and i just feel sad about the butterfly and the girl. It was so well written that i didn't notice it's rhymed. lol. It's was awesome.

This is a truly deep poem, very thoughtful and true. I especially like the lines "curiosity salted the snail/ it killed the cat/ it beached the whale." very nice job!

this is a really good metaphor for growing up. sometimes i have days where i feel like this, it's something i can relate to.

I used to chase butterflies as a child. Not, I'm 18 and I still do sometimes. No kidding. But this...
I remember a time when my cat just darn jumped up and bit a gigantic Mariposa butterfly perched on an orchid and ate it. Gah.

It's a cruel world.

Ah...more truth in this poem...curiousity can be deadly, and knowledge can be painful. Wonderful work and expression yet again.

we have all really accepted what is simply unexcusble. this poem has a deeper meaning that you have portrayed beautifully.
