I know the feeling my friend, but I think my halfway-ness is sort of what defines me. I belong to me, and wherever I go, there I am. If the people there accept me, they will. If they don't, they won't. It's not as easy as that sounds, obviously, but I find that people like someone who has a little bit of everything- not because they can't decide, but just because that's the way they are.
The poem was right to the point and well-written. I like those lines- "I'm halfway to nowhere/And I'll never escape"
