Re-reading this now, I don't think it's quite religious as much as it is, say, spiritual. I feel like such a dork. Either way, I still like this a lot. Dark but uplifiting and kind of exciting in a way since you get the feeling this is the start of an epic journey...

Even though I'm not a religious person, religious poetry fascinates me. You think that's weird. Anyway, keep it up. This was clever and beautiful.

I like how you kept a consistent rhythm throughout the whole piece. I was somehow thinking of the Legend of Zelda videogames when I read this . . . it also reminds me of a myth or a fairytale. Very nice work!
