| Ghost in the Machine 2003-05-14 ch 1, | I own copies of both book and movie and enjoy them equally. Actually, I don't see how anyone could claim there were significant differences between the book and movie. Of course not everything in the book was covered in the movie. When working with the constraints of film, it's impossible for every detail from a book to appear. The movie, quite fairly in my opinion, covered all the pertinent details of Harper Lee's original novel. The scenes that were removed, for whatever reasons, were the ones that could be most easily spared. (Scout's fight with her cousin comes to mind.) Actually, I'd like to see the report of someone who took the other side of this issue. While this essay was well written, I think the basis for your argument was so obvious that it was almost too easy. |
