Ogata-chi 2003-10-31 . chapter 16I agree with Kana that the dark ending is the one that really keeps your mind churning, while the light one seems easily forgetten, even though it is very satisfying. This is a fine piece of work, with some fascinating twists placed on the usual theological framework of good vs. evil. I debated with myself several times about the implications of Satan and his demons having so much power over mankind, or the possibility of someone killing God. Those are the surreal points that really made this story's plot stand out.
And as always, the characters really make it worthwhile. I need to re-read and figure out what it is exactly that the authors do to make the characters so alluring. |
Ten-chan 2003-10-28 . chapter 1I loved this story! Granted that you had written it a while ago, but I found it on here, read it from the beginning, and loved it! The two endings especially, one the bad guy wins, the other the good guys win and have the happy ending. It was a very great story. |
Lollipop Rave 2003-08-03 . chapter 5I haven't been able to read for a while ^^x... Wowies, every chapter gets better and better! You guys are amazing writers! |

Lollipop Rave 2003-06-27 . chapter 1Well, here's where I practice my extremely annoying habit of seperately reviewing each and ever chapter ^_^ Wai! I love this so far, it's very interesting and unique...
Your Kanako and my Kanako seem similar, ne? At least in looks (black hair, blue eyes) ^^ |

Eijentu 2003-06-06 . chapter 16I apologise for reviewing both endings here, but my sleep shift began some time ago and ends in too few hours -.o However, I had to leave a review on these two beautifully crafted chapters.
Version 1.0 is unique by virtue of the fact that it exists. As you point out yourself, it is unusual for a story to end so darkly. This chapter unravels with great momentum; the inevitability of Rei's victory as shocking for the characters as the reader.
Great piece of continuity, as Rei exacts her revenge on those who "spurned her advances" - this goes right back to the early chapters. Various strange details along the way slotted into place here. Rei's motive feels credible, as do her actions in the Epilogue, chillingly brutal though they are.
The ending paragraphs here take on the hushed tone of a terrible fable, and this too adds to the overall impact of the story.
Version 2.0 is a superb contrast to its counterpart; the structuring of the storyline moving almost entirely into the first person monologue. Elise's style is very engaging, and draws the reader completely into the story space. Very glad that she and Celeste parted on an amiable note, though I'll always wonder about the secrets Celeste harboured -.o This line, standing alone, says it all "I guess I have to admit, I care a lot about her too".
A nice twist at the end with Fox's arrival, as well as Kanako and Hikari's resolution. Indeed, this fits character as both try to come to terms with the reality of a relationship.
The language throughout both these chapters flows with great precision, and grace. Style is sophisticated, and imagery has been used to great effect. There were so many great lines, but especially "It’s all too human a death for someone who was beyond human." Captures the moment well. A very enjoyable, and well-written story -.o |
James Ray Edwards 2003-06-06 . chapter 16*Starts clapping as the credits begin roll after another well-written, dramatic production has been brought to a close.*
Bravo! Bravo! Nicely done mes amis. Sure there were a few segments that rubbed me the wrong way, but hey, I'm cool with it. Though, I was still somewhat cordially surprised to see Elise and Fox get hooked up in the good ending, since I had been expecting at least another shoujo-ai couple besides the blatantly obvious Kanako and Hikari coupling. I mean, geez, it doesn't get anymore obvious than that, oui?
Anyway, peace out, guys! Now I need to go read that other story you've got out here as well. Ja ne! XD
P.S. You know, I think I'm actually starting to figure out the difference in style and narration between all of you...sort of. |
Baron von Linux 2003-06-05 . chapter 16Aw. Such a happy ending. Thought it was a bit light on the action. You made Rei seem somewhat redeemed. Throughout the story, you made her seem malevolent and twisted. Quite a shock. Love the story. |
Baron von Linux 2003-06-05 . chapter 15...Oh my God. This ending is pure evil. It resonates within my very soul. The last line was the coup de grace. This is an excellent literary work. I am still shocked. |
Eijentu 2003-06-05 . chapter 14Really wondering about Celeste's backstory - given Rei's suggestions and her own cryptic comments, it seems there may be more here than first appeared. Look forward to learning what that might be.
Fox and the Devil - Michael and Lucifer - reach a rapport which has developed well over the preceding chapters. It's far from a sickly, unbelievable peace between the two; instead, it strikes the much more interesting, and likely, note of an allegiance of circumstance. Each has concern for his own daughter, though continues to carry his fears privately - isolated despite a common ground. This is a very nice twist in character relations -.o
Lots of great visuals in here too "Rei moved her hand, brushing back her long, lovely blue hair behind her ears", to name one.
Ended with a great deal of suspense. Look forward to the alternate endings. |
Eijentu 2003-06-04 . chapter 13Incredible chapter. Really curious to see how this all pans out. And lots of great Celeste moments in here, which I particularly like.
The structuring of this chapter is really well done - the shifting focus between the various characters as each acts (or observes). Not only does this successfully propel the story, it also intertwines the sense of confusion on the battlefield with the insight of each character. Interaction sustains the power lines established in earlier chapters, and is very smooth to read.
The language here is strongly visual; it conveys both the sinister, repulsive forms of the demons, and the beautiful, sorrowful sacrifice of Kanako. This line, from Kanako's conciousness, is inspired:
"Do not let go, Kanako." Dominic’s voice whispered to Kanako’s wandering soul. "Do not let go."
Very nice inclusion, and a most unexpected twist at the end here. As said above, I look forward to seeing all the pieces of the puzzles slot into place -.o and the differences in the alternate endings. |
 Eijentu 2003-06-03 . chapter 12Another great chapter -.o
Superb imagery of Hell in the opening paragraph here - again, you avoid cliches and thus create a darker, bleaker backdrop for the Devil. This line in particular I like: "Its seven spires rising into Hell’s sky, as if reaching for Heaven." Brilliant image, and builds the scene very nicely.
A complete sense of apocalyptic mayhem begins to take over from the underlying unease of earlier chapters; mood and action complement one another well here.
Fox reveals his true identity; very much looking forward to seeing how events transpire between Lucifer and Michael, and indeed their daughters. Despite the violence of the demons, it's a tender scene between Kanako and Hikari; Kanako adds another stunning depth to her character.
Look forward to the next chapter - wondering about Celeste's role, and reactions, to the battle ahead -.o |
