Hi. I love your rant/essay thingy, and it's kinda making me wanna vent my own. I myself am not openly bi, but damn... it really hurts when one on my favorite teachers calls gays disgusting. Well, Chemistry's no longer fun...
I like how you touched on the animes, because it hits a personal note. See, I entered the world of yaoi on the close-minded side of Gundam Wing, lashing out mostly because I got yaoi pictures shoved in my face everyday. But now... heck. But anyways, the writers of Gundam Wing left their characters open for fanbase, go them. And Togashi-san, who did Yu Yu Hakusho, never meant for Hiei and Kurama to be together, but went ahead and added Mukuro to give people an option between hetero and yaoi. Aren't these people nice? -^_^-
I am not of any religion, and literally the only within all of my extended adn immediate family who isn't. Some people... why can't people stop hating? Some person on a news broadcast was verbally abusing homosexuals by saying that it is immoral and that they should stand against it. But in truth, who is the immoral one? The homosexual, or the hypocrite?

Anyway...as I was saying...YES!! Good for you! I've written an essay (and posted it on the site) very similar to this called "Gay Is Okay!". You should read it if you have similar viewpoints to what I do.

Love IS just love - it doesn't matter who it is with, or why it happens...it just does, man. And when people can finally get that through their thick heads will be a cold day in Hell.

I just went to the Gay/Straight Pride Parade in Boston on the 17th, and it was quite heartening to see all the support for the homosexual communitity. ^_^ Viva la homosexuality! Viva la love! Viva la freedom!

Very interesting indeed. That I agree with your pleas for tolerance goes without saying, but I'd like to say a couple of other things too. I don't know much at all about anime, but much the same sort of things happen in the furry fandom, which overlaps with anime at some points (catgirls, for example). There are/were various groups going round wanting to "clean up" furry, for much the same reasons as you mention here. So it's certainly not confined to one fandom. Unfortunately, prejudice is still widespread. =:(
