This isn't *exactly* close to home, but - without going into too much detail - it's something I've had recent experience of, and it's painful how relevant much of this is. Really, I think its restraint is what makes it so powerful; you can feel the emotions churning just barely beneath the surface, and yet never quite overwhelming the poem itself. |
