aspenjerome 2003-07-06 ch 1,	Characters have to earn behavior. Ever heard that? They have to earn it. When Janis has sex with Mace at the end of the story, what is she other than a plot twist. There's nothing to suggest that she'd do it, so, essentially, her actions are just your way of tricking the audience into feeling sorry for James. No doubt that occurs -- who'd ever side with a ** -- but what's it worth? It's not like the reader invests anything in Janis to begin with. James hardly thinks he knows her? We don't know her at all. Next time, think of a way to the make the big twist at the end something than just a bad girl anti-fantasy.
