Liviania 2007-08-14 . chapter 1
I just stumbled upon this . . . Must admit, the first half was a pretty entertaining rant.

I found this part particularly interesting, considering you wrote this four years ago:

The problem is, HP is mainstream. And like anything mainstream, it will soon be rejected by today’s rebellious-by-nature, ignorant-by-design teenage base, which will cause sales of books and movies and all related paraphernalia to plummet. It’s only a matter of time before the teenagers of the world decide that HP is just too lame and "childish" for their tastes, and will promptly go back to doing drugs. Because of that, its appeal will only remain with little kids and 80 year-old men who like to stare at Professor McGonagall. It will never again be accepted into the 18-49 demographic, which is all that really counts. Unless, of course, HP changes its image and starts exclusively focusing on one audience, like any media entity ought to.

Not really because HP focused on one group, but because Rowling gave it a bit more appeal to teen and adult readers by adding more adult themes such as betrayal and by increasing the body count.

Well written and funny to read. I'd just like to point out one sad little thing: It's Hermione, pronounced Her-MY-own-ee, not Hermoine. Take another look at your HP books.

Hmm...my review was a bit idiotic...I wasn't thinking right and I was being the indignant ** I love to be...yeah.

Anyway, this is hilarious...again. I think I am one of those HP Fanatics...which is sad. I also wouldn't be surprised to see people creating fanfiction with the plotlines that you've given...there are some pretty poor writers-who-aren't-really-writers out there.

Nice. My problem is that I can't find anything good to read or anything...Harry Potter was actually okay, the only problem is it's not an eight-book epic saga. If you want to rant about anything, rant about Eragon. That book was complete crap. The most beautiful woman he's ever seen...has long black hair...and that's it...just a floating wig...magically endowed with kickass powers pirated from Tolkien...

I thought that this was very funny and well-written, in a unique style. I have two possible reasons why people like Harry Potter: 1) it's a good book; 2) parts of it are taken very casually from books, small parts that are so invisible you lack to notice it. My cousin pointed out that in a book she read that was published in the eighties or seventies had soul-sucking fiends in black cloaks. Gee, who could those be? Dementors!

Reply to your review to me: Well, I just wanted to get a couple things clear. You can chuck this part and ignore it if you want. Okay. Ready. You wrote that it sounded like I just didn't like war and killing. I'm not a quaker, even though I don't disapprove of quakers. You may have glanced through my mile long profile, and saw that all of the fourteen or so books I have planned out has something to do with war. I write about war to let people know the horrors in it. War isn't all that grand and prosperous battle. It's scary. And for a seventh grader who is just beginning to realize how much danger we are in...it's terrifying. I don't like the idea of killing innocent people. We maybe need to get rid of people like Suddam and his cronies, and, if they get a trial or something, kill them. But if it's just a random guy who got in the way, who someone forced to go out on the battlefield...that's not war. That's murder.
Okay, I'm getting into big essay mode again. I'll just get to the point. War can be neccasary. But I don't think that the war in Iraq is neccasary.

Hah. I'm an HP fan but I won't deny that most of these things are very much true. Genius.
Oh goodie, another person who wants to burn Great Expecations. That book is on MY book-burning list as well.

You must hate yourself. I can't see how anyone can STAND being around you for 2 seconds. stupid pig.

This is hilarious! I am assuming its supposed to be comedy, because if it isn't, then your "half-blind" grandparents classified it! I especially like the high fantasy part. Oh, thanks for reviewing my essay, "The Need for Failure." I appreciate people who know the truth when they see it. Apparently my English lit teacher didn't. It bombed.

*laughs appreciatively* I have to admit that I am not familiar with anime, but the rest of the parodies seem dead-on. Hmm...Harry does seem to escape Voldie with inhuman ease...especially considering how afraid everyone is of You Know Who.

Thank you. Thank you SO MUCH. Yes, I am a Potter fan...but still. Genius, genius, genius, genius...Though I suppose the way you misspelled "Hermione" throughout the essay was deliberate? Or did you not read carefully enough... *pulls out safety pins of doom* Oh well. I'll let you go because the essay was so funny. Especially the "crossovers". Those are brilliant.

*adds stories to favs*

I've had an idea for an HP parody lately...to do with terror warning colors, his scar "lighting up" (credits to my English teacher), Darth Vader for the evil enemy dude (Harry, I am your...wait, wrong movie), and some other strange things. But anyway.

Thank you for writing this. It made me smile.

Great! someone finally manged to say what ive been trying to find words for! Also, Points for all those great books you mentioned, Animal Farm, Watership Down etc. A Song of Ice and Fire is good but Memory, Sorrow and Thorn is better.

And that's all I have to say about that.
