This story is really great! I loved your details. Keep writing!

Great story. I'd certainly love to hear more. I've come to like these tomboyish princess stories after playing two video games featuring tomboy princesses, namely Chrono Trigger and Dragon Warrior 4. Since this has dragons and the others don't (not as allies anyway), this should be good.
There's only one thing I don't like. In chapter 1, you used the name Phoenix, and in chapter 2, you used the name Katherine. I was totally thrown off by that, but I'm guessing that Katherine is the princess' real name and Phoenix is her nickname. Also, when you were usually using the nickname Katherine, and then once, you used Phoenix. That is totally inconsistant. And if I'm right about the two names, I think you should have cleared up that Katherine is her real name and Phoenix is her nickname in the first chapter and either used one or the other, except maybe in quotes depending on whether someone is addressing her using her real name or nickname. And before I saw the name Katherine, I figured Phoenix is a strange name for someone to have as a real name. I actually thought it was her real name at first.
The thing about the names confused me, but the story is very good so far. Keep up the good work.
